David R. Plotner, M.D.David R. Plotner, M.D., is an ophthalmologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the eye. Dr. Plotner received his Bachelor's degree at Layola University of Los Angeles in 1967. His medical degree was earned at Tualane University in 1972. The following year he completed ophthalmic basic science studies at the Sheie Eye Institute in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He completed his specialty training in Ophthalmology at the University of California, San Diego, in 1976.
Dr. Plotner is Board Certified as a diplomat of the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology. In 1984 he was voted a Fellow in the prestigious American College of Surgeons. He currently has a private practice located in Escondido, California and has been volunteering his professional services to CCSS patients for over twenty years. Dr. Plotner has also served as chief ophthalmologist on COAD International Field Team clinics in underprivileged countries.
