Children's Corrective Surgery Society
Discover why CCSS's objectives have contributed to the helping of many!
The objective of CCSS is to provide free plastic surgery
to children who are disfigured. Common disfigurements include:
In the fulfillment of these objectives, three principles are always evident:
CCSS has also been involved in providing desperately needed medicines and medical
supplies for hospitals in the Ukraine and 50,000 doses of Polio vaccine
to South America. John Martin, our founder and President of
CCSS, has always been cost conscious and doesn't believe in "reinventing
the wheel". If another agency is adept at a particular function,
he believes that the two should work together to the mutual
benefit of everyone involved.
Our health care system here in the United States is such that
very few people do without. When the system fails there are many
private organizations who pick up the slack and should these
organizations need our assistance, we are ready to help.
We believe that every child deserves
a chance to live a normal, healthy life free from ridicule and
shame. Our goal is to help as many children as possible to achieve
their full potential.
Although our main thrust is helping
children, we also extend our services to teenagers and adults
who never had (and might never have) any opportunity to correct
these terrible congenital disfigurements.
Our donors are assured that their
donations are used effectively and efficiently so that more patients
can be served. They have the confidence that their contributions
are reaching the patients that need us.
